ANDANUT, APAPR: The Association shall represent all members' interests

The Association for Privately Managed Pensions of Romania (APAPR), the professional organization representing the local private pension industry, shall try to represent, from now on, the interests of all its members, regardless of the size of their company, stated Crinu ANDANUT, the new president of APAPR, for the portal www.privatepensions.ro. ANDANUT, who is also CEO of ALLIANZ-TIRIAC Private Pensions, was elected the new president of the Association on the 22nd of May, this being his first interview for the press, after the APAPR elections.

“APAPR will try to represent the interests of all its members, regardless of the companies’ size”, said ANDANUT. In fact, the new statute and the new management board of the Association foresees a representation of all its members’ interests, by including in the management structure (the board consisting of five members) companies from both halves of the ranking on the private pensions market (voluntary and mandatory).

ANDANUT presented for www.privatepensions.ro the main points of the program that brought him the support of his colleagues in the industry:
- Restructuring the Association’s image and organization
- Trying to reach a consensus or a large majority in the APAPR decisions
- Involving the Association in the international arena
- Hiring a secretary general to take care of the execution part
- Attempt to represent the interests of all Association’s members
- Full observance of the APAPR decisions, by all members, sanctioned otherwise with suspension.

The other board members, elected on May 22nd, are as follows: Vice-president Radu Vasilescu (interim, to be replaced by a colleague from ING Life Insurance), Eugen VOICU (Aviva Pensions), Mihai COCA-COZMA (AIG Pensions) and Felicia POPOVICI (RAIFFEISEN Asset Management). The APAPR board has already organized a first official meeting with the Private Pension Supervisory Commission (CSSPP), which took place yesterday.

ANDANUT said that the management of the two institutions already decided to have high level meetings between APAPR and CSSPP at least once a month (ordinary assembly) and whenever necessary (extraordinary assembly), provided they are notified in due time.
“The Commission’s Board Members fully agreed with a fair and transparent dialogue with APAPR, acting as a body representing the market”, added ANDANUT.
