Top mandatory private pension funds with the most "valuable" clients in Romania
ING, AIG, BRD and BCR attracted the most "valuable" clients on the mandatory private pension market (pillar II) according to an assessment conducted by the www.privatepensions.ro portal, based on data from CSSPP and CNPAS. The assessment, the very first one in this respect, underlined the net average assets value for each participant attracted by the mandatory pension funds, three months after the system started to collect the contributions.
The fund's total net assets were split according to the total number of participants (a calculation that also considers the impact of the empty accounts), then the companies were ranked according to the value of their net average assets per participant. At the opposite end we have PRIMA PENSIE, OMNIASIG, INTERAMERICAN and KD, where the net average assets per client are the lowest.
Ranking the private pension companies by their net average assets per participant also indicates the "quality" of their portfolios. The conclusion is similar to the one we can draw from several studies, conducted when the system was only starting up: banks and companies with large portfolios of life insurance clients attracted the system's best paid clients.
